Hi Robert,

You say at least 1000+ searches a month, what is the top end number of searches per month? i.e. what ballpark is the "sweet spot" between popular enough searches and over-popular searches so that you can get your blog high on Google?

Hi Robert,

Not been to your site for a long long time, so i thought i would come and take a look to see what you was up to. Its a bit strange really because when i got to your site i see this article about "how to be a dj". Right at this time im promoting one of my niche sites in this exact niche!! And im on google page one for a few of my keywords but the best thing is im making sales.

I video'd a dj friend of mine in Plymouth last summer, spent the whole day filming him like a fly on the wall type documentary "a day in the life of a dj" Filmed him in his recording studio and then at the nightclub where he works as the house DJ.

Put all the content together, built the website, set up my autoresponder and offered this set of videos for free once opted-in!!! Has done very well so far at building my list and at the same time earnt some cash from the clickbank dj product my site is promoting.

Now i know this site and set up is working im now going after the more competitive keywords by mainly outsourcing my SEO campaigns on Fivrr and other sources.

Im not going to link back to this dj site for SEO purposes or any other reasons, was just really a catchup on your site and thought i would give a little feedback here seen as it was some of your post which got me started in the first place.

But Robert i just did a bit of keyword research using my arsenal of keyword tools and they all say that phrase gets:

Broad match:1300 per month global
Phrase match:0 per month global
Exact match: 0 per month global

Now it does not matter how many competing websites there are, its how strong the top ten sites are!

like whats their PR like,how many backlinks are pointing at the site, what quality are those backlinks,anchor text used for the backlink etc etc etc:: after all its page one you want to be so they are the only REAL competition!! not the BIG NUMBER that has squat to do with anything

Put that search phrase within "" and that big number of competing sites comes down to 135'000.

Even for a similar keyword phrase these are 645billion competing sites! but all that number means is thats the number of sites that have those words mentioned somewhere on their site and when you put a keyword phrase between "quotes" thats the correct number of sites that are trying to optermize there page for that keyword .
